My work with the pot is going forward...
-
But as usual I do not finish one thing before I start on the next one, I was so excited so I started another one at once..

I realized that it might be smarter to paint the pot white first, so I tested that. And then I remembered that I had some broken pots that I have glued together which I could use for this, as it won't be seen when I'm done =) But here we can see that it is a bit cracked, but I will cover it with eggshells later.

This pot has eggshells painted in pale green. I was unsure if I would have painted them in a stronger colour, but I might be able to repaint them at pot later?! We'll see.

I painted a coffee filter with watercolours, which I will use a punch to get flower shaped bits out of, but I don't have that many flower-punches so I use the scissors too. Like I have done to do this rose, I cut out parts of the coffee filter and glued onto a steel wire wrapped with floral tape.
-
Then I tried doing some asters, but they were no good at all ..De ser inte ut som aster, det ser ut som papper på en ståltråd... =(
-
It doesn't look like an aster, it looks like paper on a wire...

So I put the flowers down for a while and began to plait (is this the right word?) a basket of birch bark (which I found on the ground), but it was driving me crazy! When I was done with one side, and started on the next the first side let go and I was in the same place as I started on and I never got any where. So I gave up this too, but later I got an idea that I could put tape on one side, but it didn't work out as well as I expected, so I didn't come so far with this, but I might continue another day ...
Indeed, plaiting might be hard! But I like your pots - even the crack - it looks like a well-used pot :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, maybe I should "save" the crack, don't cover it with mosaic as I thought.. I will think of that =)
DeleteYour paperpot and rose are looking good already. As for the asters....it just needs a few more experiments and then they will be perfect, I'm convinced of that! The idea to use coffeefilters is new to me; I'll try it some day. Thanks for the hint!
ReplyDeleteCoffee filters are a bit though, harder to punch than regular paper, but they are so easy to paint and a great material for flowers =)
DeleteI like your pots. The flowers lokk wonderful.
ReplyDeleteGreetings, Faby
