Some new minis after all

Like I said in my last post, I'm sick.. So I thought I could blog some more now that I have time to just sit still =) To be sick is so boring.. But I have been able to do some minis lately, even do my creativity have been as low as my immune defense...
I haven't felt like doing cats or dogs lately, or I have been wanting to, but I just can't manage to do them.. But then I felt like trying to do another white dog, like the one I did 2013: http://hannahsminiatyrer.blogspot.se/2013/12/snow.html
And, I manage to finish it =) Yay =)

The first one in the back, completely made of wool. The second one in front, made of wool and it has polymer clay eyes and nose.

I have no idea what breed it is, it's just a white dog =)

And then I finally manage to finish my rya-rug. This pattern was fun to make. But I did one row wrong, but I fixed that, and now it's done. =) I have no idea were to put it, it was just fun to make it (like almost everything I do.. I do it for the making, not the result =) )

And then I tried to furnish my bathroom. I really suck at furnishing =( I have no idea were to put things.. Should I move everything around? Were should I place everything??

The daughter of the Pettersson family finally got to take a bath =)

I might just move everything around one more time, to see if it looks better another way.. I could move things around and around forever.... It's good it's easy to move things around in this scale =)
Then I'm working on some blinds and some details for this room.

Take care

Tutorial Rya rug / Long pile rug

Finally my rug tutorial is done =) First I doesn't post any thing or read any blogs for almost a whole month, and now I post once a week ;)
Before the vacation I got hooked in making rya/long pile rugs. First I had a pattern in my mind, but it was impossible to make it like I wanted, so I changed the pattern, and then change again, and I was quite pleased with the pattern even if it was completely different to the vision in my head =) I started thinking of a new pattern, and started another rug =) But still, the pattern was not what I planed.. But it was OK =) And then I gave it a third try, still not at all what I planned, but nice. So I'm very good at making rugs I first not planed on making ;)

I have already given you a sneak peak on this black and white rug. And now I wanted to show you how I did. I looked at a video on youtube, for real size rugs. And then I scaled down and tried and this is what I made =)

If you try this tutorial, please let me know, I'd love to see your rug =)

And if you like the music on this video you can hear more here: www.boray.se
And if you are a bit curious about me, you get to see at least one picture of my husband by clicking that link ;) Since "Boray" is my husband =)

What I've been up to lately

Thanks to all of you that wanted to swap with me, I hope to do this again sometime =) Then I'll reserve a spot for you Kikka if you are still interested by then =)

My carpet so far
I thought I haven't done any minis since the fair, but I did embroider on my carpet again, and I started to make a few more pull-toy-sheeps (I already have another buyer for one..) and made some plastic sledges.

But I felt very non-creative and hollow after a few months of "work" every day for the fair. But I hope to get going with my house again, sometime soon. And I might take up on an old project, my Fantasy-project. I hope I'll get a little push in the right direction from Jane, since she is sending me a swap-package later =)
And soon I'll get some swap-packages from Lisa and Jennifer, that might give me a ton of inspiration to continue my work =) And then I'll get a package from Irina too. How lucky am I?!

I was talking sledges. I'm a bit off season here, the snow melted away weeks ago but I started to think it would be nice to make a sledge, just like the one my daughter have. A Stiga cruiser =)
I made a red one for me, and my daughter saw it and wanted one for herself, so I made a blue one for her (her favourite colour right now) Then I just made two more, I was still in selling-mode I think ;)
I Haven't attached the pull-string yet. I was thinking of making a seatbelt too, but I don't know if I want to =) We will see.
I started making a pull-sting; red, white and blue, but then I remembered our string is just white, but on all pictures on Google they had red, white and blue strings.. Because it took me quite a long time to make this string, I might just have a simple white string on the rest..

I was very busy the week before the fair, this is what I made back then:
I made three owls one or two days before the fair =) They are quite simple and fun to make. I sold 2 of them and the last one is on it's way to Jennifer right now =) I think I'll make a few more for my nursery later.

I also made two frogs, both sold quite fast =) I'll have to make another one for my nursery too =) I love toys and I have always liked frogs, so I most have a plush frog in my nursery =)

I manage to make a cat too. I worked a lot the last week before the fair and manage to make a few things =) The eyes are maybe a bit too green on this cat.. But I did make them a little darker, with some brown spots in them, but I fixed that after I took the photo and I didn't have time to take a new photo...

And last but not least a French bulldog. I was very uncertain about selling this one, you know me, I get very attached to my animals, and this one was very hard to sell, but it was a very nice girl that picked it up, so I hope it has a good life with her now =)

A sleepy French bulldog puppy

I tried to capture the wrinkles puppies have in the neck and body =) And how they can fall asleep everywhere, any time. I think this one fell asleep crawling up the sofa or something =)

Soon I'll open my Etsy shop =) I'll let you know when. I just need to list a few more items and read the rules a bit better. I most say, I'm getting old and slow, new things are just hard to learn.... =)
I will try to sell one or two things now and then, but then I have to think about if this is what I want to do. I get very attached to things, and it might just not be worth it to stress and make things and sell. When I only make things for myself, I don't stress that much.. But I like when people like my things and wants them in their dollhouses, and I do like the extra money ;)
It's not as stressful to sell on the net, I don't have to have a lot of things ready at the same time, like I had to with the fair. But I hope to make it to another fair in the future, I'll just have to get a lot of time preparing for it, not 6 month like I had this time =)

Have a nice week and take care

Bed set and a new 1:144 scale house

Well Birgit was right :) I did manage to cut into the lovely fabrics, some tiny pieces, for a pillow and quilt for my cradles, I have two cradles to sell, and one of my own.. that haven't got any bed set yet..
And I just wanted to thank you all, you are ALL so nice, I love reading your comments =) Inspires me to improve and keep working on my minis =)
Thank you all!!!
So after all encouragement I tried making some bed sets. I just need to glue the bottom and legs to the green cradle, and then I'm done. (But when I say that I always find something else to fix or add...)
I've also started a make-over at a changing table.
I'm not done yet =) I will add wallpaper to the door too.

And guess what, just after I "revealed" my new fabric "addiction" I won a giveaway, from Conny, with new fabrics =) How great is that?!! Will be looking forward on getting my mail now ;)

Last time I promised pictures of my new 1:144 scale house, so here they come =)
I measured my 1:12 scale house and devided it with 12, and drew a floor plan. I decided I wouldn't make the big doors that opens in the front.
I wanted a 50's and 60's look. And looked for old wallpapers on the net (everything is so much easier when I have a printer) and just printed the wallpapers I wanted =)

And made a parquet floor, just drew and painted on the wood. And then a brown carpet and some printed floors.
The house is 5,6 cm high.

I wanted a red wooden facade, but when I started painting I realized it was more orange than red.. But I didn't have any red paint left.. so this is what I got.. I'm NOT pleased with the windows.. They are not straight and equal... But I don't want to repaint it.. I don't know if I'm even able to remove the old paint.. and do a better job next time.. so this is how it will have to be.

I havn't made the roof yet, Dont know how I want it.. Have to think about that, and while I was thinking I found an old cardboard minihouse as well, so I'm working on that too. It was unfinished, like several of my things are...It most have been lying in the drawer for at least 7 years =)
I printed some floors to that house and have started painting it, but I have no picture of it, yet...

And last but not least I wanted to show some furniture I bought on FB =) They were cheap (just like I like it) =) and I really wanted a highchair, so I'm very happy with the new things.
My daughther was with me when I opened the package and guess who snitched every single one of these furniture.. Saying: "Låna mammas"... (Borrow mums) Well I'm a sneeky mum and I snitched them back when she wasn't looking ;) She manage to get rid of some bows on the bed, I'll see if I glue them back on again, or if I paint the bed first?! I have to paint the table, because there is an ugly sticker on the top, that wont get off, but I like making furniture a little more unique, but I realize I'm no good att painting, it never ends up the way I want it =( But I have to practise and use a better brush or roller.
I'm thinking of painting the chair too. Actually I'm not that found of this dark red wood, but I end up bouying them anyway ;) Maybe beacause its common, or I might like them without knowing ;)
The tiny sofa looks just like one I have in 1:12 scale, would be nice to have them together in a scens somehow..

Now it's bedtime for me, and since I got a cold I should have been in bed awhile ago... but.. I hate going to bed! There are so many fun things that can be done beeing up, instead of sleeping.. But I have to sleep and get well now! So Good night =)

Fabrics and animals

I've become addicted to fabrics.... and especially Tilda fabrics from Panduro.... =) I have no idea what to make of them, but they are so wonderful to look at! And I'm a bit afraid of cutting them, what if I destroy them =) We'll see if I get over that and start using them soon ;) I'm thinking of doing a bed-set for my cradle.. soon =)
My Panduro fabrics
When I haven't been looking at my fabrics, I worked on a couple of needlefelted animals and painted a kitchen and started on a new 1:144 scale house.
Two cats ready for Stockholms miniature show so far =)

I've shown the black cat before, but I added some whiskers =) And everytime I think I'm done, I think of something more to do... I might give the black cat a fimo-nose, like the white one.. so I might not be done just yet....

I've understand that cats often do this, being in the way of your work ;)

Lucky for me, the paint had dried before the cat jumped up looking for attention... ;)

I gave these cats pads.

And then I started thinking of a dog I made before, he could use pads too, so I reworked on this dog too, and gave him pads and attached the head a bit better, and fixed his legs.

And now I'm working on a toy poodle =) But I took a break yesterday and started building a new 1:144 scale house too =) (I'll show you pictures of the house later)

As you can see, I'm still busy =) I'm so happy I'm able to work on my minis almost every day now =) I'm really enjoying myself right now, you never know when time runs out again =)
Take care

If you don't have a clue what you wanna do, be careful with the glue...

I'm sick =( It started out with a sudden urge to clean the house last week... I picked up things just to get them to their rightful place, and after a few days of this, it got worse, and I vacuumed the whole house and swabbed some of the floors and cleaned the toilet and the sink and did the laundry and the washing-up. But then I got so tired and just like that I got a sore throat. And then the cold hit me, with headache and fever. I couldn't even work with my miniatures for a couple of days, I was only sleeping and lying on the couch. It is boring to just lye down for a whole week..

But I can feel how I'm starting to come back now =) And I have been able to do some more details for my cabin.
NOT the best picture.. but I added a doormat (a small piece of leather, upside down) And under a gutter I found some moss that I thought look like a bush or something =)
And I added some curtains =) I just realized I forgot to make curtains for the upper window..
I like yellow for the kitchen, so I couldn't resist this yellow fabric for the windows =)

I also added a blanket for the bed and a rug, made of tread like I did this one: http://hannahsminiatyrer.blogspot.se/2011/03/det-kommer-en-del-nya-inlagg-i-rad-nu.html Very simple =)

And then I thought that blue blanket would look good on my bed in the first house, so I made a quilt for that bed too =) And then I just realized both my "1:144 scale" houses are the same size... That seems about right.. until you see them.. first one is a big house with two floors and several rooms, the second one a small cabin.. how did it turn out this way???
Is it the first one, that is too small, or is it the cabin that is way too big? I think the cabin is too big, but the first house may be the wrong scale too! I just hate counting and measuring.. I will have to do a better job with that next time.. and yes, it's going to be a next time =) I'm already sketching on a new house =) I LOVE building houses. But I hope I will furnish them too, that is not as fun as building new houses =) But I like it when they are full of things to look at.. so I will work on that =)

And if you wonder what that headline is all about ;) I realized I shouldn't have glued that second floor to my first house just yet.. It will be very hard to add furniture in there... (At least the roof is still movable) I did manage to add a curtain, but that was very hard =) But I will keep working on that house, and hopefully I can add new stuff to it every now and then =)

And today I did paint more squares to my floor (in the 1:12 house) It will take a great deal of time to finish it, but I'm working on it (yes I'm working on a LOT of things ;) )
And I did a lot more work than usually on my carpet now when I've been sick. This really feels like a never ending project =) But when I see it like this, on picture, I can see I've done a lot already =) The boring part is still to be done.. all the off white in the background.. and the frame and some small details too =)

It started out with a hanger and ended up with a bed... =)

I should be working on the last floors in my house.. But I don't want to =) I just want to be done and start decorating... But I will start, soon ;)
Last week I started making hangers for the wardrobe, that I haven't built yet.... I thought it was a lot harder than it looks =) I looked at this tutorial: http://www.polyvore.com/diy_mini_clothes_hanger_with/set?id=81396077 Mine are not this beautiful..
I also did a a very odd looking dress, the waist is VERY thin and the whole dress is to small.. it just shrunk after I was done stitching..  I most have forgotten the seam allowance... I will try to make a better dress later.
I used one of my hangers to this dress =) I think I would like lots of cloths hanging in my wardrobe (that I haven't built yet...)

I was a bit disappointed with the result, so I started making a bag instead =) Out of binder clips =) I guess all mini-makers knows about this, but if you haven't heard of it, check this out:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8X2zOmuwW-k
I should have bought regular ones with silver on top. But I found these cute and cheep coloured ones.. but they didn't really fit being bags, because of the coloured top... but they are OK, but very small =)
This is my first one =)
I just realized I'm not done, I haven't done the handle yet =) But like always, I stopped when I didn't get a 100% happy with the result... But it might look better if I actually finish it ;)

But I started sewing again instead after I saw this tutorial: http://amberatti.blogspot.se/2013/08/112-scale-camisole-tutorial.html
This might be a bit too old fashion for my house, but I think it can work in a modern house too =) This is my first try:

Front
Back
I don't know if I should add buttons, we will see =)
I might just do some more =) It was fun, and it was a good pattern (I had to draw it by hand looking at the screen, because my printer wont work, but I think the pattern turned out well)

And as I didn't have enough to do, I started on a bed today ;)
I'm very insecure when it comes to wood, I don't have a great working place for it (I had to saw this pieces on my balcony) and I'm not that good with wood. But it will be fun trying =)

This might not look like a bed ;) But I made this construction just to let the glue dry in the right angle =)
Hopefully I will be able to continue with this tomorrow =)
It's both hard and fun =)

Like always I'm working on several things and I have a thousand ideas and I don't know were to begin =) But I hope it will result in one great house one day ;)

Take care

More carpets!

Oh no, I found more free patterns for carpets.... ;) I love carpets (in miniature, in "real life" I do think they are an awful lot of extra work vacuuming....)
It looks like I have to do more carpets... Just look at this wonderful patterns: http://tanjal.dk/pages/dukkehuse-i-1-til-12/diygF8r-det-selv/broderede-tE6pper.php The one with the figures are my favourite! I have to do that one later. I dont want to start a new carpet while I'm still working on one, I
think the first one just will be lying and never finished, so I have come up with this "rule" for my self =)
I was planing to do the carpet on the front of my new book too, and then I really wanted to design a carpet of my own too... There will be lots of carpets in my future, I hope =) But I made the first one in 6 month, and this second one is bigger (but I do half stitches, not cross stitches as the first one) but I guess it will take a couple of more months.. So I might do 2 carpets a year, not much, but I see it as a relaxing activity. And I hope I get a bit faster as the years go ;)

Anyway, I'm working on some pieces for a swap right now. I love swaps =) Its so exiting! But I always wonder if my things are good enough.. and I think its hard to value my own things.. I hope the receivers will be happy for my things =) I will show you the things later, but I wont show it right now.. But I can give you a hint that it will be a lot of clay work this time =) And I have done one thing I have been wanting to do for awhile now, so I had to make a couple things for myself too ;) (as always)

Hope to show you some new pictures next time =)

Back from some vacations

So I'm back from a little vacation. =) I thought I was going to miss the work on my house when we were gone, but I think I needed a break. I was working on the floors and they did NOT turn out the way I wanted =( Don't know if I should do it all over again, or just leave it as it is.. (I guess it's quite hard to remove now I have glued it straight on to the floor... and painted it white.)

Anyway I did bring my carpet on the vacation (we visited my mother-in-law in south Sweden and attended a wedding in a different part of Sweden, we did quite a lot of travelling on a short time period, but we had a great time =) ) and I've been working on the carpet every now and then =) I think it's very soothing and fun =)
This is were I'm at right now, or.. I did do a few more stitches since I took the picture.. ;)

Last week we got back for the vacation, but I didn't get back on my miniature making until today =) (Except for the carpet) Like I said before, I got some lovely miniature shells, I thought I could do a nice jewellery box with shells on. Those shells are beautiful in them self, so I reckon I didn't need to do mush with them.. but I think I manage to make them look less beautiful then they really are.. um.. Hope it looks better when I'm finished.. I don't know how to decorate the box and make it look as wonderful as the shells deserve... This is what I got so far:
But this is just the beginning, I haven't even started on the lid yet =) I think it looks a bit empty.. It might need some more decorations.. I have to sleep on that =)
I did use this too, I believe its used to make flowers?! Nice and shiny anyway =) Like pearl I thought =)

At last I would like to show what I found in the grocery store =) I love mushrooms and I wanted some for dinner and found a great wooden box full of them for 15kr. I thought this box would be great building material =) I was so eager I already started taking the box apart when I took the photograph =) Don't know what to make of it, but I guess it might come handy one day =)

Hope to  work a bit more on my jewellery box tomorrow, but now I say good night for now =)
Take care

Not at all done..

I thought I was done and I was trying to put the house together, but I could not get it to work. I almost went crazy over that house.. How hard can it be?! I gave up and ask my husband, and after a long while he realized that I had the back upside down... Easy to fix, or... not really since I had done the wallpapers all ready, upside down =( The room I thought were the kitchen is really the bedroom, and the bathroom is the livingroom and so on =( I got so mad and sad. All my hard work, such a waste!!
I just had to remove the wallpapers on the back, and remake it! As you know I've made two rooms with napkins, so I had to remove them completely, it was quite easy using water and a brush, but it took me awhile... Then I had to paint some more white and then I could do it all over again. I am lucky I had more napkins left, I only had 5 of the one for the bedroom, and I already used 4, so I was really careful with the last one..

But, my daughter refused to sleep for a few days now (at daytime, and she slept poorly on one night too..) and all a sudden I had not even one minute to spend on my dollhouse =( Today she slept for almost one hour, so I rushed and got it done, again =) but.... I tried a new technique and placed the napkin on the wall and brushed glue all over it. It was a bit hard, you got to be careful, and don't tear it apart with the wet brush. I thought it looked all right at first, but when it dried I saw all the wrinkles.. so I have to do it all over again... (and use my old technique and paint the glue on to the wall and then place the napkin on top) How many times can something go wrong??
Hopefully will my daughter sleep tomorrow so that I can do that last wallpaper one last time (I really hope its the last time) and after that I can FINALLY put the house back together again....
3 out of 4 rooms are done now... Only that last room left now... it seems like forever until I get it done..

But my carpet is moving along, although I had to redo a lot of stitches too.. I think its hard to count when I do only half cross stitches..
But I keep going =)
