I don't celebrate Halloween but maybe it did inspire me to continue with my Fantasy roombox, all a sudden I felt like making a secret passage. For that I needed a bookshelf, so I built one, of biltema-pinnar.
When I was done I thought it would have been nice to put wallpaper inside the bookshelf, but it might be hard to do now, I'll see what I can do..
I need to decide how the hole/corridor will look like, I was thinking a rabbit hole like Alice in wonderland.
I want to add things that reminds me of TV-series or movies I like:
Buffy the vampire slayer (my favorite TV-series)
Once upon a time
Once upon a time in wonderland
Harry Potter
Lord of the ring
Merlin
Lost (since my husband liked that show. I only saw the last season)
Friends (not a fantasy series.. But there is a painting I'd love to make a mini version off, since I love that show too =) )
(I might have forgotten some movies or series that I'll add later) =)
Anyhow, maybe a rabbit hole in the wall, behind a bookshelf could be my once upon a time in wonderland "thing". (I hope to add more from that series later too)
I also added some wallpaper since last time, and since I fell head over heal in love with Carolines roof painting, (we had a roof painting in our house when I was a kid too) I wanted to paint the roof. After a few attempts of making some kind of pattern, I gave up and just added paint, and more paint and yet again more paint.. and this is what I got =)
Not what I thought I'd do, but I do like it =) The left is inside the house, some kind of magical roof and the right is outside, the sky.
And finally I got to play a little and try out my saved stuff.
Just testing
Testing the bookshelf. I need to make more books for it =) Can you see Jane's amazing dragon eggs? And a glimpse of Birgit's incredible book. And beautiful colourful mushrooms from Irina.
A sleeping dragon in the woods, it's a sweet baby dragon, according to my daughter. =)
"Ap-tanten" (Monkey-lady) as my daughter like to call her... has been out picking mushrooms, she had to go all the way to Germany to get this kind of Birgit-made-ones ;)
I'm amazed she manage to go out at all, since she is missing a skirt... But she is happy for her new boots. (My first try with sculpey soufflé clay)
I have no idea how to make the outside part. I want trees, grass, stones and other woods-stuff.. Do you have any great tips for me? Please let me know =)
But I might start working on my Santa house soon, and I should keep working on the Pettersson's house too. I have lots to do, but I like it that way, so that I can choose the thing I feel like doing for the moment. =)
Now I'll rest again..
Take care
Hannah
I wish you a speedy recovery dear Hannah! It's no fun at all being sick! You did however very well with your project despite your illness. I like the tree and the shelf as well! I hope you can find strength to finish your house!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jane! I did all this before I got sick, now I'm just so tired and dizzy I rest all day... But I hope to be able to make more minis again soon.
DeleteHi Hannah, I hope you feel better soon! Your post is fun and interesting, as always! I like what you're doing with your fantasy roombox and look forward to seeing more. The inside/outside part is really fun! xo Jennifer
ReplyDeleteThank you Jennifer! I felt much better yesterday, but today I'm just so tired and have a headache..
DeleteBut all these encouraging comments make me feel all warm and happy inside =)
Hannah espero que te recuperes rápìdamente. Ahora lo que toca es descansar y pensar en lo detalles de lo que quieres realizar.
ReplyDeleteThank you Isabel! It's great to have something to think about when I rest in bed, I get so many ideas what I want to make, hope I will be able to make them when I feel better =)
DeleteI'm sorry to hear you're sick - my best wishes for a speedy recovery! Wow, your roombox looks great so far... that wallpaper is an eye catcher and your ceiling painting matches perfectly. Are you going to add some stars or rhinestones to it - well, I'm curious to see your progress (although your other WIPs sound very interesting too *grin*) You already have a nice collection of wonderful miniatures (even some very rare fantasy mushrooms *LOL*) and that idea with a secret gate is great...
ReplyDeleteHugs
Birgit
Thank you Birgit! I was thinking about stars, I might just have to look for some now that you have mention them too =)
DeleteIt's not nice at being sick, Hannah, but I hope you'll be soon on the mend.
ReplyDeleteI love the ideas you have for this project. The paintings on the ceiling are so well done, they add much atmosphere to this house :D! The hidden door behind the bookshelf is a good start.....now you have so many possibilities! Use your imagination, I am sure you can do ;)!
It is lovely to add the wonderful gifts of blog friends in your scene, isn't it?
Hugs, Ilona
Thanks Ilona! I'm feeling better now. But I still have a headache, maybe from all the thinking on how I should go on with this project ;)
DeleteYes, I feel very lucky to have gotten so many nice things from friends, I'm happy that I can finally show them off in a scene =)
I hope you heal up soon hon! Seems we are all getting a bit of a bug even though we are all over the world!
ReplyDeleteYour space looks fantastic, love the wallpaper! I see you have a good start of goodies to get you going, I like the idea of adding bits of things you enjoy. Kind of like a treasure closet!
Well you know me, use what you have around to make landscapes, bit and bobs of things make wonderful landscape and crafting with foam, paint moss, flower scraps makes for a effective and welcoming space!
Never underestimate the power of baking a couple of branches form outside to make trees/shrub shapes and even plants!
I look forward to more magic!
Hugs and healthy wishes, ~J
Thanks Jane! We have a dark and tiresome season right now, I hope for snow and brighter days soon... But until then I feel better, not sick, just very tired.
DeleteI try to think like you, to use scraps and work magic and make something beautiful, but that was harder than it looks on your blog ;) But I'll keep trying! Thanks for the tips! =)
I hope you heal soon. The book shelf looks great. And I like your plan of book list. I love to watch most of them too. The roof and wall do seem magic. And it's so cute that your girl named it the sweet baby dragon. :D
ReplyDeleteThank you Chloe!
DeleteI hope that you are feeling better soon, Hannah. But it sounds like the sickness stirred up your imagination! Your scene looks very cool. I think you are off to a great start and it will be fun for you to update as you feel inspired.

Kikka
Thank you Kikka! Do you have Biltema pinnar in Finland too? I think they are a bit hard to cut, but easy to build with =)
DeleteHi Hannah<
ReplyDeleteI hope you already feel better and wish you a very quick recovery.
Your project looks good. I love the bookcase and the way you display all the
wonderful handmade pieces from very talented friends.
I look forward to your progress.
Hugs, Drora
Thank you Drora, I do feel much better now!
DeleteTake care Hannah and get well soon. I love the thought of a secret passage. I'm intrigued.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sharee!
DeleteSo sad to hear that you have been sick! It's always frustrating when you have so many ideas and are not able to work on them. Hope you feel better soon so we can see some more of your roombox completed! The boots came out great. As for the exterior, check out Elizabeth's blog (Studio E); she had a ton of ideas in her recent garden posts! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Lindsey, it really is frustrating just lying down, sick..
DeleteI saw Elisabeth's garden, it's amazing, will have to check back to see if there is anything easy enough for me to do =) I'm not that great at 1:12 scale gardening.. but I'll keep trying.
I'm sorry your sick. That's really annoying not to be able to do what you want. And even looking at a computer screen gives you a headache. Hopefully you are much better today.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your secret passageway idea! That is going to look so cool! The ceiling painting really finishes the room. It really gives both rooms this mystical feel. It's looking really great!!
hugs♥,
Caroline
Thank you Caroline! I'm glad a ceiling expert painter like you liked my ceiling =)
