Stuck in the nursery =)

When I was a kid, my brothers favourite animal was monkeys. I had a hard time choosing a favourite, since I loved them all =) Ants, spiders, dogs, rabbits, lizards, frogs, wolfs, elephants and giraffes (and everything else that lives) But when choosing an exotic animal, giraffes was always high on the list. They were tall and kinda skinny (just like me, well, OK, much taller than me, but still..)
I guess this is why I like doing miniature giraffes so much =) Even do the spots are kind of annoying ;)
I was thinking of doing something for my house, but I ended up doing another giraffe, so here it is:

It's up for sale, since I already have a giraffe on my own =)

Two friends in the nursery =)
The one in the back is staying with me, and the other one hopes to find a loving home soon.

You know I started with the nursery for my house. The funniest room to make since it's filled with toys, which I love =)
The other rooms are just on hold.. I just don't know were and how to start, I guess I'll have to take it one step at the time..
Anyhow I made a bedding to that empty crib of mine. It has been empty for so many years, but when I saw another girl (in our FB-group) doing a bed-set, I finally got started too =) Sometimes I need someone to "tell me" what to do, or see something done, and then I finally get started.

The dog was admiring the new bed-set =)

Mini-Bä already made herself comfortable

I also went trough some of my boxes and found this cute teddy bear that I bought 10 years ago, finally I unpacked it and placed it in my dollhouse =)
Looks like I can't make a new blog-post without another teddy bear showing up... ;)

I also found a knight's castle and a "painting"

I made this castle about 10 years ago, maybe even longer ago. I think it will go to my boy's room.

And this brooch is a memory from a deceased friend, it makes a great "painting". I always loved the motive, my mum has a poster with this motive in her bedroom and I thought it looked nice in the nursery. I always read a prayer about an angle that watched over our house when I was a kid and went to bed, and I imagine the kid's in this house does that too.

I forget how fun it is to decorate, I always think I'm really bad at it. But Jane's Dalicious
challenges made me want to set up a scene, a room and decorate =)
And I speaking of Jane, she is a very nice person, and I'll be posting about something she helped me get, as soon as I get it ;)

Take care
Hannah

  1. Thank you Hannah for mentioning me but I am really not that at decorating. I think you did wonderfully with your nursery. The tiny castle is such a precious thing! The giraffe is so cute. You have a lot of talent and I hope your Etsy shop will do well!

    1. Thanks Jane! I haven't sold that much on Etsy, but I guess I'm kinda busy with other things too, so maybe this is a good level for me, to sell just a few things a year =) I like it when people have my minis at their houses, roomboxes or scenes, feels very special, but at the same time I have a hard time parting from things, so a few things a year will be enough for me. =)

I get so very inspired by your challenges photos, you have such great stories behind them!! Maybe that's the key to a great scene, to have a good story behind it =)

  2. Hi Hannah! I must say that your mini giraffe is absolutely adorable, so sweet to see :D! So mini Ba has find its place in the bed, if I was Ba I did that too ;)! So nice to snuggle up in a warm bed. It's stormy weather here in The Netherlands so it won't be long before I go to bed too ;)!
Your baby room and your toys are so lovely, it's great work :D!

    1. Thanks Ilona!! We don't have any stormy weather here, but it's quite cold, so I spent a good while under a blanket in my bed with my daughter this morning =) That made me think that I have to make a bed-set for the boy's room too, can't leave some of my mini-people out in the cold like this.. The father haven't even got any clothes yet.. I have to take a look at your wonderful clothes again, and maybe I'll get some inspiration =)

  9. Ohhhh I LOVE your giraffes!!!, its something about the biggest animals begin so small! Yours are always so perfect!

I like your nursary scene, its good to have a display for yourself to show case some of these beauties you make.

Some day though I think you will have to make yourself a small toy store and fill it with your beauties ;)

    1. Thanks Jane! I think you are right! I have been thinking of a toy store for awhile, but I think it's hard to find a box that would look great as a store, I'm no good at building big roomboxes or houses myself, but one day I just have to try make a toy store =)

  16. Hi Hannah, it's been a long time since I've been here, but really wanted to say hi and see what you've been up to. And I can't comment on every post I've seen so far, but I do wanted to say: I love the giraffe, you made that very beautifully, it looks very small. Giraffes are special creatures aren't they? And what a nice thing to have, the brooch in this room (with the indeed lovely picture in it), it's a beautiful way to honor your passed away friend and remember her/him by.
