Back, again =)

I think I spoke a bit to soon last time, saying I was back.. I was back home, but no more than that.. But now I have been catching up on blogs and made a few miniatures, but not that much..
Not much going on in my miniature house right now.. And I miss the summer and the heat, my daughter got a cold, I have been cleaning and doing laundry after our vacation.. and feel kinda uninspired..

But I did finish a rug, and started a tutorial on that, will be posting that soon, I hope =)

Is there a nativity scene I see there on the left?! Looks like noone has been here to clean since last Christmas..
I have a feeling my mini-family The Pettersson's took a vacation too. Looks like they have been doing some laundry too ;) (Tutorial on my washing machine is here: http://hannahsminiatyrer.blogspot.se/2013/11/making-washing-machine.html seem to be the post most people have read actually =) )

My white poodle tried lying on the new rug I made =) This rug will turn up in a tutorial soon =)

I don't know what the Pettersson's say about dog's in beads, but I haven't made the final bed set for this bed yet, so I'll allow it for now..

My brother went to Japan to study for a couple of months, I would have LOVE to come with him, or just visit him there, but it's a bit too expensive for me (and with all the wonderful dolls and miniatures they have over there, it would most certainly be an expensive trip for me;) ), and I have my family to look after too =) So I settle with buying some Re-ment plates instead... and some cute toys =) Found them in a group on Facebook.

You know I love toys, and I just couldn't resist these babies!! I have not showed them to my daughter, she would have taken them in a heartbeat......

I decided to try selling these bears on Etsy, I started with the green one, and I just got the grey/brown one out on Etsy too, the other one might just get out there when I get the time =) And I started to work on the "bear-line-up". A brown, a blue and a white teddy bear is in the making.
It's strange but ever since the fair I haven't felt like doing any cats and dogs.. Or I want to make them, but I just can't.. I have started on a cat, but I never feel like doing the head.. it's a headless cat at the moment.. I might get over that soon, but until then I'll keep doing bears, I enjoy that and I like to have them in all kind of colours =)

There was going to be a Stockholm miniature show this fall too, just like the one I was at in April. But I couldn't go, I haven't made enough things and it gets to expensive to go just as a visitor =) And then they cancelled the show because of troubles with the hotel (I was very happy then that I didn't bought any tickets to Stockholm), but now Miniaturemama Lena and friends are going to set up a new show 26/10, so if you are near Stockholm, go and take a look, I wont be there, but I know they will have a LOT of fun over there!
Read more about it here: http://miniatyrmama.blogspot.se/2014/09/stockholm-miniature-show.html

Take care
Hannah

  1. Hi Hannah! You did buy adorable Re-ment plates! And those Disney -babies are so cute, no wonder you had to buy them! And your Teddies are also very cute, give a hug from me to them all :)
I have had the same problem as you have, with starting to make some minis now after summer. But I think the inspiration is coming your way soon, and hope: also my way!

    1. Thank you Kikka! I've always loved all Re-ment things, I'm happy every time I get a hold on some new things, too bad it's not that often, or, it's good, I wouldn't have any money left otherwise ;)
Hope you get back your inspiration soon!! I get so bored when I don't make miniatures, I need something to do all the time =)

  2. Hi Hannah! I like the scene with the washing machine, it sounds familiar after the summer holidays ;)! I didn't know about your tutorial, I'll take a look there, thank you for the link!
Your doggy bed is wonderful, I see the poodle loves it. Those Re-ment plates are great, just like your self made bears are, they look so adorable.
I guess you have a bit of the same feeling, like Kikka and I had: just coming back from vacation and nothing made in miniature yet ;)! But I started last week and I've just have finished the peonies, the ones you saw on my blog ;0. So I think you must feel for yourself when the inspiration for making miniatures comes back to you.
    Have a nice week!
    Hugs, Ilona

I'm glad your inspiration is starting to come back! Your flowers are wonderful. I think making miniatures are very calming and fun, so I love to really get back on track again soon =)

  3. Hi Hannah, It's always great to hear from you. Your laundry room is so cute, as are all of your handmade things. I love the Re-Ment toys you found--very, very cute! Good thing you hid them from your daughter--you don't want to lose them to her! :-) xo Jennifer

    1. Thank you Jennifer, I agree, it's always nice to hear from you too =)
I felt a bit bad for hiding these cute Re-ment things from her, so I gave her one little brown bear, but the rest is just for me... =) (and I couldn't stop myself from buying one more little re-ment package, guess I'll be showing it here soon =) )

  4. Hola Hannah! No estaría nada mal un viaje a Japón, lástima que sea tan caro. De momento creo que tampoco está tan mal disfrutar de lo que queda del verano y esperar que vuelva de vacaciones la inspiración.
Tus pequeños osos y el perrito son preciosos

  5. The Re-Ment pieces you found are lovely findings... and your newest felties are cute as always. I really like the picture with the washing machine, especially because of the stored nativity... so realistic! *LOL* And about inspiration... I'm sure it will come back to you soon! ;O)

  7. Oh the creating fire did not hit me much either this past few weeks but that is normal for a few seasons or it would just be regular work not a hobby ;)

Your bears are amazing I know they will be scapped up, but I also think your owls and frogs would be loved as well, I know how magnificent they are!!

I hve been spending alot of time in my laundry room preparing for winter ;P Yours looks perfect as a scene!

Go with what moves you and dont force the creativity, it will come!

    1. Thanks Jane! I have been thinking of making more frogs, the one I made for Etsy went to Birgit quite fast =) so I have to make another one soon. And owls too. I'm so glad you liked them, that makes me want to do more of them =) But I'm stuck in bear-mode right now, but I hope it will be frogs next time.. (My mood and will to do different things tend to change very fast)
I have so many things I want to do, but when I sit down trying to make something, I just can't.. But I'll keep trying ;) I need some fun relaxing alone-time now and then, and miniatures are perfect for that. And I did get some clay-time today, finally. But I was a bit disappointed, I didn't make the thing I wanted and the things I made was not that good, but I had a great time being with my clay again, I'll just give it another try another day =)

  8. Hello Hannah, I have been trying to leave a message for two days but it just won't go through. I guess third time is a charm! I hope your daughter will feel better very soon. Mine just caught a cold as well :( I think your poodle and rug are super beautiful! I really like your teddy bears too. I wish you good luck in creating more. It's good to stick to what you like and whenever you feel like it again, then you can experiment on some new stuff. That's the beauty of being in control of what you want to do because it's a hobby!

    1. Thank you Tatiana! Yes it's much easier to do what I want and don't do commissions, sometimes I leave my work for days or even years until I finish, I can't do that if I have a costumer waiting for it =)
