Ever after high: Cedar Wood

Someone was selling Ever After High dolls, unboxed, in perfect condition on Tradera. (Swedish ebay) I wanted to buy them all (at least the ones I didn't have before) But the prices went up and I wasn't home when the auctions ended.. But I manage to get Cedar. She is very hard to find in Sweden, so I'm very happy! (I missed out on Cerise =( But I decided to order her from amazon uk, so I hope to get her soon too =) )

Cedar Wood is the daughter of Pinocchio, she is made of "wood". First I disliked her, plastic made to look like wood.. Not for me, I thought.. But after awhile I came to love her, like all the others ;)
I think she is very cool with her wooden body. She even have a wooden head, but not so much in the face, but I like her face, and how you can see wooden details here and there =)

She came with her hairbrush (shaped as a key, every doll has it) her history and a stand.

She has a plastic bag, that can be open, I like that, but you can't fit much in it, since there are plastic parts inside to keep it together..

I love the cricket in her hair =)

The bretelles reminds me of Pinocchio, but I think these clothes are my least favourite of all my dolls so far.. I do like the collar and bretelles. And she has some really great details, and I love the doll, but the clothes, I don't know, I just don't care for them that much. But still, I couldn't resist getting this doll, maybe I'll learn to love the clothes just like I seem to love everything about these dolls =)

Right now I'm working on some minis too, will show you more soon =) And like I said, I hope to show Cerise soon too =)
I'll just give a little sneak peak, what was baking in my oven today.. From a wooden doll to a..... tree =)
If you have a great suggestion how to make leaves on my polymer clay tree, feel free to let me know =) I have no idea how to proceed at this point...

Take care
(I'll take care of my sick daughter and hope not to get sick myself again for the hundredth time this season...)

  2. I kinda like the wooden scroll design on the doll, ive seen her in the store and thought that her look was quite unique!

For your tree, you could of course attach more clay with a bit of bond or mushy clay and do a rebake. But using some thick paper and using your clay stick to crease in lines would look pretty nice as well ;)

Hugs and well wishes to the little one !

And I was thinking of paper too, I guess I just have to collect my courage and give it a try!

ese árbol tiene un aspecto genial!!!! Las hojas las puedes hacer con cortadores o punch,no se como lo llamaréis vosotras, pero quedan muy bien o simularlo con musgo ferroviario de las maquetas a escala.
    Besos.

  7. Hi Hannah! You are making miniatures again.....that's great news :D! That tree looks promising! I think all options for making leaves are described in the above comments, so I'm afraid I have not a new option for you...!
Your newest doll is a special one, I also like the cricket in her hair too, that's so very Pinnocchio ;O!
I'm sorry to read that your daughter is still sick, take good care for her and spoil her a little bit, like all loving moms do :)!

    1. My daughter is helping with the Fantasy scene now, but she got bored at this tree after 30minuits, and I spent a few more hours finishing it.. =) But it's nice to have a helper in my project, very inspiring and it makes me want to do even more minis.
I have been reading books for her all day and she got ice cream after dinner, I hope that she will be healthy soon again, but she is at a good mood anyway and helps me with my minis =)

  9. This doll is even more special with the woodlike skin, there's so much fantasy in these designs. Your tree looks great - well, I would suggest taking a leaf punch and paper... (And I know what I'm saying... I'm doing this myself at the moment working on a magic tree family...) Hope your daughter will recover soon and that you won't take over any new germs and viruses.

    Hugs

    1. Thanks Birgit. I think I'll try paper tomorrow, but I don't know if I have a good paper punch for it, I just have one leave punch, and it's maple leave, I wanted another now.. I'll see how I'll do.
I was thinking of doing 3 trees, but it feels like this is the kind of thing that I only make once in a life time.. =)

  12. Hej Hannah!
Så läckert träd du har gjort och satt i ugnen. Hoppas vi får se det när det är klart.
Vilka fina dockor du samlar på dig. Dom har så olika uttryck i sina ansikten.
