Compost

Just a short post, about compost. 

I made some paper bags for the compost, like the ones we have "in real life", and apple cores, we get a lot of apple cores in our real compost, working on some banana peels and potato peels too.
I was very fascinated of composts when I was a kid, I liked worms and see how they turned rotten food into soil. But here in an apartment it's not so easy having a "real" compost, so we get these paper bags to sort out the compost, not as fun as the "worm-one", but still good, so I wanted my dollhouse to have these compost bags too.

Haven't got the time to post as much nowadays, but every now and then I get this urge to write a few words to share.

Gifts again

4 months, my baby is 4 months old, how did that happen?!
Life is catching up with me and I thought of taking a miniature break, but I just can't, I have to make a little something every now and then, to feel good. I would go nuts if I never get to make something creative.. so every now and then I make something, but I don't have much time to work with, so the blog is often left for later.. =)

I showed you gifts last time, I knew I should have waited a day or two, because more gifts were on the way. Jennifer is so sweet, and when I won her giveaway, I got a few (a lot of extras) to share with my kids. We had a blast looking through that package =)

In Sweden when kids go to the dentist they often get to choose a present after, from a big box of things, this reminded me of that, but we didn't have to chose only one thing, we got the whole box =)
My daughter and I divided the things between us, and she put hair clips in both her own hair, mine and on her favourite sheep =)

Stickers, with my daughters favourites =) She loves Lalaloopsy right now (And Hello Kitty) First we loved EAH dolls, then they stop selling them in Sweden, now when we found Lalaloopsy, they have stooped selling those too... Bad luck for us..
Any way my kid was very happy for the stickers, we made posters for her dollhouse, her Lalaloopsy dolls were very happy with their new posters =)

Then I got this in the mail too, I bought these candle holders from Finland, found them in a Facebook group; Lundby Lovers

They are inspired by Alvar Aalto's candle holders. I just love them.

My Instagram followers have already seen this picture but I share it again here =)
Like I said, I try to make some miniatures every now and then. This little dog was waiting for me, without legs, for a year, finally he got some legs =) Now he is just missing eyes and a nose.. I wonder how long it will take to make them... I try to finish some unfinished objects right now =)

And I had a bit of fun photographing Aragon while he visited my dollhouse family =)

 

 Lovisa was so happy to see uncle Aragon again =)

Jon was more sceptic, since Aragon missed his birthday, but this skateboard made him light up again ;)

Band-aids

Found a great tutorial on band-aids, and I actually got some time to try it out. (The baby sleeps a lot some days, especially since she too got sick =( But not as bad as the rest of us, but enough to worry me, like crazy. Yesterday she was awake all day, and very sad, but today she sleeps all day.. The rest of the family is feeling much better now, it took a long time, this cough was no fun, but I'm glad it's almost over now!)

And I had some fun today taking some pictures, not the best pictures, but I was stressed that the baby would wake up =)

 Mum have told Lovisa not to climb the couch, but Lovisa just can't help it, it's so much fun, until...

..she fell down...

And hurt her arm on the way. There was blood..

And lucky for the Pettersson family I made more band-aids, so now they are ready for more accidents...

The big package is the first one I made, just printed the sheet I found on the blog I linked to in the beginning of the post. It was a bit too big I thought, so I tried making it smaller, this was the smallest (1,1cm and the big one is 1,5cm) I could make, it was a bit too small, very hard to make the band-aids that small, so they are a bit too big for the packings, but, it works =) They were a lot of fun to make! And I think they look so cute, and I love minis that actually works, like the real thing!

I read a lot of blogs while breastfeeding, it's hard to leave comments, since the keyboard is too far away, and my hands are tied, to the baby, but sometimes I manage to do it, other times I just read. It's a great way to spend my time while being "stuck" on the couch =)

I enjoy every second of my wonderful baby and you see, I even got some times for minis too =) Life is good!

Do I dare to say rabbit, again?!

We had some vacation, and we travelled to south Sweden as usual, but before that, I did make even more rabbits...
Don't want to bore you with all the rabbit pictures, but here are some more.. A family picture, seem like there were 4 babies, I think 2 of them will have to move when they get old enough ;) But 2 will stay at my dollhouse, with the mother. =)

And I guess this is the rabbit father, he has shorter fur than the rest, it was fun to try cutting it shorter =)
I don't know if I'm done with rabbits for now, we will have to wait and see, there might be more, just because I like making them =) And there are so many more colours to try... =)

One day I realized I had quite a lot of air-drying-clay left. I thought I should work on that a bit more. (I made a few ice cream cones before) But when I found it, it was all dry =( Note to self: NEVER forget air dry clay!
I had a short cry (another note: never find destroyed mini-material once pregnant and extra sensitive) But then I thought I had to try if there was anything useful left. I got to make a few ice creams, and then I realized I could soften some of the clay with water, doesn't look like it was before, but it was OK I think. I had a lot of hard work to make just a few ice creams. I might try to use some more another day, I got so sick of this stupid thing I had to take a break. The cones are polymer clay and the ice cream is that air dry clay that drives me mad  =)

I thought it would be easy with air dry clay, no oven, just wait and it's done, and you can make it in containers that doesn't stand the oven.. but.. polymer clay doesn't dry like that stupid thing, I think I'll stick to that! =) So I was back to "normal" clay again..

Like I said before, I made a few cakes for my daughter, and I did make some for me too =) Tried using liquid clay on the left one, wasn't a success.. Have to practice a bit more.. and the right one was far from perfect too.. More practice I guess...

And some stones for my Fantasy garden, which one do You like the best? 

With white and brown eyes, just the brown or no eyes?? I can't decide which one I like the best.. I have been working on more magical fantasy stuff, but I'll show that later. The tree, anyone remember that?! Haven't gotten any further with that.. =( I got stuck on the boring leafs..

But I made a few paper minis too, some packings for the kitchen, and then these train puzzles I showed in my last post. Here is a close up, here you can see how you can move the parts =)


And the Glow-in-the-dark-stars (also from the last post) in place at the roof at my nursery. It was a bit difficult to photograph them.. But I tried to show you them in different lights/darkness.

And some final pictures of things I picked up on our vacation =)

I visited Dockbutiken, I had a great time, a small store (with a big web shop), so many things to look at! I can't believe I had this much character, to go out of that store and not bring half of it with me home.. ;) There were also a lot of dolls I would have loved to bring home!

And my mother-in-law saw these on a supermarket, very cheep tools for my clay.

Btw, do you remember the buyer that scammed me on Etsy/paypal?! I just found out I was far from the only one, she has scammed a lot of people now.. I wish Etsy and Paypal could arrange something that made it possible to block people like that.. Well, I'm glad I got to know the truth now, and I feel better knowing I didn't do anything wrong, not the post-office either, she was just dishonest.

Hope you all have vacation too =) And are enjoying summer, if there is summer now at your place too! (We do have summer, but it has been a bit hard to see, since it has been a bit too cold for my taste this summer..)

More rabbits

I have made a lot of random clay things lately. Pop corn, candy, animals to put fur on, things for my Fantasy roombox. I hope to show everything some day =)
Most people on our swap got a bit delayed, so I'm still waiting for my packages, exciting =) I sent my stuff a bit early instead.. I was happy to get it done, then I didn't have to worry about what to send and when. And that was good, because I got a cold (again!) and had terrible pain in my throat. But I feel much better now. And got well enough to celebrate midsummer at my grandmas yesterday. =)
I will show my swap things as soon as I get my packages, so you have to wait a bit more to see what I made =)

But until then I thought I could show a new rabbit. I get stuck in things, when I make a rabbit, I can't just make one, I have to make them until I get sick of them... And I can never finish a project, I just keep doing random stuff, and the same thing over and over, sorry for that..
I so admire people that has a clear vision, a new project, and then they finish it, work on that thing for weeks, even month or years, and just do what needs to be done. I just start thousands of things and never finish anything..
Anyway I wanted to try to make a rabbit that had two colours. I decided to use white wool and colour it with a black pencil. Next time I'll try to mix two different colours of wool (I just need to wait for a package of new wool first..)

I thought this may be my the mother of my baby bunnies =) 

And she seem friendly with the dog of the house, but I would advice her not to touch that bone of his...

I made this very short and simple video with my furry mini friends =) I bought a stand for my phone and wanted to try stop motion, and it was a lot of fun =)
Remember it's just a quick first attempt, afterwards I saw the giant lamp-foot that shouldn't have been there.. and a few other mistakes..

And I decided to show this Persian cat after all, it's my first clay/wool Persian cat, it was hard to make, and I'm not that pleased with it, the face and the tail is a bit odd. But I hope the next one will be better =) It's a bit of a lottery doing these I think, you don't know if you made a good clay base until you have put fur on it, and then it's too late to fix any mistakes.

Maybe I should try add some whiskers to it. Feels like something is missing..

Next time I hope to show the swap things =)

Baby bunnies

Baby rabbits, how cute are they?! I almost want to buy myself a rabbit again.. But, I don't have space for a big cage and doesn't have the time to take care of a new animal right now. But later, in a few years, I want rabbits again! I got my first rabbit when I was 6 years old, he was amazing, almost like a dog. Came when I called, walked freely in our apartment and walked outside in a leash.

Anyhow, I thing rabbits are great to practice on, in miniature. (I made one before you know: http://hannahsminiatyrer.blogspot.se/2015/01/funny-bunny.html) I need to start sculpting better, but the fun part for me is putting on the fur... =)

I made a few different white rabbits to practice on. Still, dabbling with the sculpting....

Two babies are done by now.

They could need a cage, (Feels a bit hard for me to make, but I have to try some day..) but now they run freely in the Pettersson family house, and couch.. (I hope they are housebroken, don't want any stains on that new couch..)

I have been working on a few secret projects now too, since I couldn't help myself and entered a swap =) I will send 3 packages soon, I'll show pictures of what I made and sent later. =)
Swaps are so much fun, but I get a bit stressed out; what to send? how much? and are my things good enough? Well I decided to enter nonetheless.

I have told myself to only work on my own projects now, and don't even think of selling and make to others, but that was too hard, so a swap was just what I needed right now =)

I made a couch

Over a year ago I started thinking about making a couch. But what type? And which colour? It took me a year to figure out what I wanted, and then I finally got started before Easter. I did a drawing and I decided to make it out of thick cardboard, fabric and sponges (foam rubber). It took me some more time than I had planned, and now after I wish I had done some things differently, but I feel very happy to finally be done with this!

These are the parts I used + cushions made from the sponges. 

I've already put fabric on the sides on this picture, the sides are also made of cardboard, I used double cardboard for that.

Konrad tried the couch while I was working on the cushions. He is a bit cranky, he has been asking for clothes for years.. So I started making him some bib-and-brace overalls, not what he was asking for.. But I could need a hand with the building, so fancy clothes has to wait for later =)

 The pregnant Lisbeth is very pleased to have a couch to relax in.

I even tried out the couch in the house, but the house is such a mess, still.. I have to fix the window, and I wanted to polish the floor, and I have to take out all the things just lying around.. Much to do, but this house is my "forever-project" so I have no rush =)

Hope you all had a great Easter! I did, only bad thing was that it ended too fast... =)

Some new minis after all

Like I said in my last post, I'm sick.. So I thought I could blog some more now that I have time to just sit still =) To be sick is so boring.. But I have been able to do some minis lately, even do my creativity have been as low as my immune defense...
I haven't felt like doing cats or dogs lately, or I have been wanting to, but I just can't manage to do them.. But then I felt like trying to do another white dog, like the one I did 2013: http://hannahsminiatyrer.blogspot.se/2013/12/snow.html
And, I manage to finish it =) Yay =)

The first one in the back, completely made of wool. The second one in front, made of wool and it has polymer clay eyes and nose.

I have no idea what breed it is, it's just a white dog =)

And then I finally manage to finish my rya-rug. This pattern was fun to make. But I did one row wrong, but I fixed that, and now it's done. =) I have no idea were to put it, it was just fun to make it (like almost everything I do.. I do it for the making, not the result =) )

And then I tried to furnish my bathroom. I really suck at furnishing =( I have no idea were to put things.. Should I move everything around? Were should I place everything??

The daughter of the Pettersson family finally got to take a bath =) 

I might just move everything around one more time, to see if it looks better another way.. I could move things around and around forever.... It's good it's easy to move things around in this scale =)
Then I'm working on some blinds and some details for this room.
