Good news and bad news

Since I posted a picture of all my needlefelted animals in a Facebook group (Miniatyrer i skala 1:12, feel free to join in =) Its my friend Anne that started this group) anyway, I posted a picture and got a great respond and several orders. I've already shipped one teddy of to Denmark (I haven't even visit Denmark myself, but I'm happy one of my teddies will live there now =)) And then the giraffe that will be picked up on the fair, and 2 cats and one cat that will go by mail too. So I've been busy, and on top of that, my shoulders started aching again.. =( I have that from time to time. Some days they really hurt, and I cant move my head. And some days they are OK, I just cant move my arms anyway I like. I've gotten worse and worse the last 3 years, but since I hate hospitals I was hoping it would go away, and it does, until it comes back again.. but this month it got much worse so I had to ask for help. I went to a physiotherapist this week and I got some exercises to strengthen my back and stomach and hopefully I will get better soon!
I had a terrible pain in my back after the delivery of my baby. But a physiotherapist helped me, and I'm better, but not good.. maybe because I'm to lazy to exercise every day...

Anyway enough with the health issues.. and straight to the pictures =)

My winnings from Conny, she added a lot more than I actually won =)
I'll have to start sewing soon =) Thank you so much Conny!!

A teddy bear that moved to Denmark

A dog that got more fur
I thought I made a Bichon frisé, but it got too big, so I added some grey to make it into a Shetland sheepdog, but I was so not pleased, but now I worked a bit more on it, and its OK, but not my best work..

 A sleeping cat

Right now I like doing bodies, not heads.. But I did finish this cat at last =) And its ready to ship to the new owner =)
I think Jennifer was right, this tiny sofa could make a great animal bed =) I will place it in the same room as the "big" one later. When they get a room...

The first two giraffes I made, are gone =( I just can't find them, I have been looking everywhere, but they're gone.. I really hope they will turn up in time to the fair.. But I made another one for the woman that asked for one, so at least I have something to give her at the fair, but I really hope the first ones will turn up too!! I'm getting crazy looking for them...
This new one is already packed and ready for the fair, and hopefully he will stay in the box and don't run of to the other two....

These cats moved in to my unfinished house, but they may move again.. I decided to bring them to the fair, I hope I can make new ones for myself later (If I sell these) =)

And finally my 1:144 scale house is done, it took me a lot of time getting that roof in place, I have change it 2 times, and I thought of how it would be for a long time, then I could finally decide with a little help from Anna =)

Only 17 days left until the fair, time really flies!! I have so much more to do.. but I haven't been in the mood for anything for a couple of days now, but I try make something anyway. Next week I'll go to the funeral for the man who got my first finished roombox... I think he was a great man who will be missed by a lot of people!

Take care

Bed set and a new 1:144 scale house

Well Birgit was right :) I did manage to cut into the lovely fabrics, some tiny pieces, for a pillow and quilt for my cradles, I have two cradles to sell, and one of my own.. that haven't got any bed set yet..
And I just wanted to thank you all, you are ALL so nice, I love reading your comments =) Inspires me to improve and keep working on my minis =)
Thank you all!!!
So after all encouragement I tried making some bed sets. I just need to glue the bottom and legs to the green cradle, and then I'm done. (But when I say that I always find something else to fix or add...)
I've also started a make-over at a changing table.
I'm not done yet =) I will add wallpaper to the door too.

And guess what, just after I "revealed" my new fabric "addiction" I won a giveaway, from Conny, with new fabrics =) How great is that?!! Will be looking forward on getting my mail now ;)

Last time I promised pictures of my new 1:144 scale house, so here they come =)
I measured my 1:12 scale house and devided it with 12, and drew a floor plan. I decided I wouldn't make the big doors that opens in the front.
I wanted a 50's and 60's look. And looked for old wallpapers on the net (everything is so much easier when I have a printer) and just printed the wallpapers I wanted =)

And made a parquet floor, just drew and painted on the wood. And then a brown carpet and some printed floors.
The house is 5,6 cm high.

I wanted a red wooden facade, but when I started painting I realized it was more orange than red.. But I didn't have any red paint left.. so this is what I got.. I'm NOT pleased with the windows.. They are not straight and equal... But I don't want to repaint it.. I don't know if I'm even able to remove the old paint.. and do a better job next time.. so this is how it will have to be.

I havn't made the roof yet, Dont know how I want it.. Have to think about that, and while I was thinking I found an old cardboard minihouse as well, so I'm working on that too. It was unfinished, like several of my things are...It most have been lying in the drawer for at least 7 years =)
I printed some floors to that house and have started painting it, but I have no picture of it, yet...

And last but not least I wanted to show some furniture I bought on FB =) They were cheap (just like I like it) =) and I really wanted a highchair, so I'm very happy with the new things.
My daughther was with me when I opened the package and guess who snitched every single one of these furniture.. Saying: "Låna mammas"... (Borrow mums) Well I'm a sneeky mum and I snitched them back when she wasn't looking ;) She manage to get rid of some bows on the bed, I'll see if I glue them back on again, or if I paint the bed first?! I have to paint the table, because there is an ugly sticker on the top, that wont get off, but I like making furniture a little more unique, but I realize I'm no good att painting, it never ends up the way I want it =( But I have to practise and use a better brush or roller.
I'm thinking of painting the chair too. Actually I'm not that found of this dark red wood, but I end up bouying them anyway ;) Maybe beacause its common, or I might like them without knowing ;)
The tiny sofa looks just like one I have in 1:12 scale, would be nice to have them together in a scens somehow..

Now it's bedtime for me, and since I got a cold I should have been in bed awhile ago... but.. I hate going to bed! There are so many fun things that can be done beeing up, instead of sleeping.. But I have to sleep and get well now! So Good night =)

If you don't have a clue what you wanna do, be careful with the glue...

I'm sick =( It started out with a sudden urge to clean the house last week... I picked up things just to get them to their rightful place, and after a few days of this, it got worse, and I vacuumed the whole house and swabbed some of the floors and cleaned the toilet and the sink and did the laundry and the washing-up. But then I got so tired and just like that I got a sore throat. And then the cold hit me, with headache and fever. I couldn't even work with my miniatures for a couple of days, I was only sleeping and lying on the couch. It is boring to just lye down for a whole week..

But I can feel how I'm starting to come back now =) And I have been able to do some more details for my cabin.
NOT the best picture.. but I added a doormat (a small piece of leather, upside down) And under a gutter I found some moss that I thought look like a bush or something =)
And I added some curtains =) I just realized I forgot to make curtains for the upper window..
I like yellow for the kitchen, so I couldn't resist this yellow fabric for the windows =)

I also added a blanket for the bed and a rug, made of tread like I did this one: http://hannahsminiatyrer.blogspot.se/2011/03/det-kommer-en-del-nya-inlagg-i-rad-nu.html Very simple =)

And then I thought that blue blanket would look good on my bed in the first house, so I made a quilt for that bed too =) And then I just realized both my "1:144 scale" houses are the same size... That seems about right.. until you see them.. first one is a big house with two floors and several rooms, the second one a small cabin.. how did it turn out this way???
Is it the first one, that is too small, or is it the cabin that is way too big? I think the cabin is too big, but the first house may be the wrong scale too! I just hate counting and measuring.. I will have to do a better job with that next time.. and yes, it's going to be a next time =) I'm already sketching on a new house =) I LOVE building houses. But I hope I will furnish them too, that is not as fun as building new houses =) But I like it when they are full of things to look at.. so I will work on that =)

And if you wonder what that headline is all about ;) I realized I shouldn't have glued that second floor to my first house just yet.. It will be very hard to add furniture in there... (At least the roof is still movable) I did manage to add a curtain, but that was very hard =) But I will keep working on that house, and hopefully I can add new stuff to it every now and then =)

And today I did paint more squares to my floor (in the 1:12 house) It will take a great deal of time to finish it, but I'm working on it (yes I'm working on a LOT of things ;) )
And I did a lot more work than usually on my carpet now when I've been sick. This really feels like a never ending project =) But when I see it like this, on picture, I can see I've done a lot already =) The boring part is still to be done.. all the off white in the background.. and the frame and some small details too =)
Take care

Progress on the tiny cabin

I would like to thank every one that left such nice comments on my last post =) I started painting that floor again. Amazing how hard it is to make it look like it has been washed off.. ;) I will keep working on that.. I think the first ones looks better than the new ones, but I will keep trying =)

But I'm working on that little cabin too =) Every time I think I'm almost done, I come up with a new idea =) And I still haven't done the roof =) And the grass (I think there will be grass around it, if I'm able to make that..)
When I left you the last time I had done all the walls, but I had not glued it together.
I did some window frames, by regular white paper =)
I also did this around the doorpost. Then I assembled the house.

I made the second floor out of balsa wood, drew some lines on it with a pencil and painted it brown, the same colour as the house.

The first floor is also made out of balsa wood, a bit thicker than the second floor.

Three walls in place. I haven't glued the fourth wall yet, I might just have it loose =)

Then I made a ladder =) (of toothpicks as well)

And I was eager to try out my furnitures..

I tried lots of different combinations (I haven't even painted the sofa yet) And I realized I could make a fence just like I did the ladder =) (The sofa is made out of balsa wood and later I added some fabric too)

Looking at these bright white window frames made me want to paint them... so...

...I painted both the window frames and the sofa, in "Dala-blue" =) I don't know if they are still a bit too bright.. I might just make them a bit more dirty with some brown paint, we will see about that =) (made a door of balsa wood too, and painted it blue)

I made a bunk-bed (out of toothpicks, beads, cardboard and fabric) and a bedside table (balsa wood) and a chest (balsa wood and paint) and a corner cupboard (the cupboard isn't really done yet) and I thought I was almost done (except for the roof and the exteriors) Then I thought, we have very cold winters here in Sweden, maybe I should give the cabin a tile stove. So I moved the cupboard and the fridge and started making a stove.

Eager as always ;) I wanted to see how it would look with the tile stove in place, so I tried it out, even if the stove isn't finished at ALL! (And the cupboard isn't done yet either... )

The door got a doorknob (a bead).

Tried it with the last wall in place, but I think it would be best to leave it removable, maybe I can have some kind of hinge, and open and close the wall like a door?! I will have to see when I have made the roof, if it's even possible to do that.

Some last pictures =) I will keep working on this and I will have to make at least one more post about this house ;)
When I was looking at this now I just realized it might be nice with a rug too... I might just come up with new ideas everyday...
I haven't glued the furniture I only used tacky wax, so they are movable, I figure it would be the best, since I get new ideas for this house all the time =)

But this is a fun project and I have no rush to be done.

I will go paint my tile stove now =)

A tiny log cabin

I got very inspired to start building in 1:144 scale again after seeing this at kilmouski and me and then Anna started on a house too =)
I should finish my first one, but, I started on a new one instead =) I got this cute kitchen, a bit old fashioned and I immediately thought of a log cabin for it, and not any log cabin, a "härbre".  Its an old "storage house" for food and things, they hang the food high so that the animals wont eat it before the people could ;) And it was built on rocks or poles. But mine will stand on the ground, since it wont be for storage. They did sleep in this small cabins too, mostly in the summer, and I believe many old härbren have gotten a make over so that they can be used as cabins nowadays. I've seen many of these old cabins/ härbren in Dalarna, Sweden. And since I almost believe that I am from Dalarna (which I aren't, but my grandfather were and my mother lived there for a long time and my grandmother still lives there, in a cute cabin, not like this, but in a typical red swedish cabin) anyway! ;) I've always liked log cabins, and härbren =) I saw this drawing: http://timmerstugan.blogg.se/2009/august/ritningen.html#comment and I started draw a plan myself and this is what I came up with =)

I thought toothpicks would look like logs, if I painted them =) So I started out with some paint, I thought I would have this house in "wood-colour" (not red like most cabins in Dalarna are, but I have seen some wood-coloured log cabins too! And maybe it's more common to have a red "normal cabin" than a red Härbre?! I think so anyway) I used watercolours and let them dry in some styrofoam.

I started carving the toothpicks, but I realized it would take forever to do this, so I came up with a way to cheat ;) It wont be as beautiful, but it will save time and I think it will do.

I just glued toothpicks on each other and used a paper template to see how many I had to use. I will glue the walls together later.

I made an opening for the window =)

I had a hard time decide if I should have 3 or 4 walls?! I will make the roof movable, so that one actually can see the kitchen furniture inside =) but I don't know if I should have one wall open too, but I would like it to look like a house...

Working on my cheating method for the sides ;)

And when I was done with the three first walls, I decided to make four of them =) So I will keep working tomorrow =) And we will have to see if I use 4 or 3 walls later =)
To be continued....

A little trade

I just realized I never showed you what I got in the little trade I made with Ulrika. I did show you the mice I gave her, but the furniture I got never made it to the blog =)

The chairs on the left did not come with the trade, I bought those at panduro. (they were charms, but I cut of the ring on the top) They are a bit to big, but I might have a place for them in a house later.

I thought I could build a log cabin or something for these furniture. They are 1:144 scale. And I would like to have a small log cabin =) I always liked those.. You who have followed me since my last blog at hannahsminiatyrer.blogg.se know I did do a larger log cabin before, or started and never finished... maybe I can finish a small one before I get on with the bigger one.. we will have to wait and see ;)
I did transfer all my old posts to this blog, so you can check out the log cabin here: http://hannahsminiatyrer.blogspot.se/search/label/Log%20cabin

Now its way past my bedtime, again.. So I'll see you later (or earlier another day I hope)
Take care
