Lundby Dallas in action

Things are happening in the Dallas house. First we had to do some cleaning:

Daddy got a new ride

And a scary Furious Smurf was lurking around

(No doll was harmed during the photos)

And then there were lights!

And a 3,5 year old girl REALLY interested in mommy's dollhouse

(Lots of work to be done, wires to hide..)

(I have to dig deeper into my old boxes of furniture, I think there are more kitchen pieces to be found..)

And a swap with Sara, with a doll that my daughter snitched right away..

I was not going to have any Lalaloopsy dolls, there are too many dolls out there for me to collect everything.. but this one is so cute I had to have it, and now I want more.. (I almost doesn't have this one, since my daughter say it's her collectable doll, that she collects, and I can't play with it, (wonder what she got that from ;) ) but she lives in my dollhouse)

And finally there is a cranky doll in the house that refuses to get out of bed until I give her some clothes..

Tried cheering her up with a teddy bear, but I agree, she should get some clothes..
And a name.

Needle felting and flee market findings

Summer is going to it's end (but here in Sweden we finally got sun and some heat, I have been missing that yellow warm thing!)
My husband got back to work, me and my daughter are back to being home alone.. with a big stomach and some serious back pains. But we have been outside enjoying the sun a bit, me on a bench, while she has been running around the playground.
I hope I will have time for some bloging and reading blogs this autumn, but I'm afraid I wont have much time for miniatures this autumn since the baby is expected in less than 2 months now! Were did the time go? But now it feels like I'm stuck in time, with pains and a big (Everyone keeps saying I have such a small stomach) bump that just wont let me move.. I'll be so happy once the baby is on the outside instead of the inside, being pregnant isn't my favourite thing to be.. But I keep trying to think how fast 9 month will go.. But right now, stuck and unable to move..

Anyhow I saw Jennifer got an Instagram account, I started to look it up again.. After a few weeks I even downloaded the app for my phone, but never opened it =) Then Jane Chérie talked about Instagram too, and now I finally manage to open the app and open an account, so now I'll try to learn and maybe post some pictures there too. I do love blogging because you can write, a lot.. =) And I tend to do that.. I'm better at writing than taking pictures, but it's fun to take pictures too, and I will try to combine these two, and I love to follow others and see all their amazing pictures. I haven't felt like doing much lately, I'm just too tired for everything now, but I haven't given up on needlefelting just look at the bunch of cats and giraffes appearing the last months..

I do dream of attending another fair, maybe next year?! I try to do a few minis to add to a "selling box", and hopefully I'll have enough things to attend a fair next autumn =) I hope to bring my daughter too, she is a great helper and I think she would like to see all those miniatures =)

Yesterday we went to a big flee market, I was looking for dolls and dollhouse furniture. No more dollhouses =) But.. The first thing I saw, was a nice Lundby Dallas house. Original wallpaper, just like I want it! And nice condition. It lacks a few plastic things for the windows, a door to the garage down stairs, two parts for the fence, and a half door to the stable at the side and the front downstairs. The chimney is loose, I have to glue it back on the roof later.

Also found a box of furniture. I'll see if I'll keep everything or sell a few of them (I already have the stove, since I was a kid, really like that one, but now I have two of them =) )

I also found this cute littlest pet shop Blythe. I have been looking for them =) I was so happy to find her, and she was very cheap too =)

Brio Alphyddan

I was not going to buy any more dollhouses now! And certainly not a "Lundby scale" one.. (since I have a few unfurnished, and packed away) But then.. There was this girl in my home town, selling a Brio house, for a good price. And I was looking for this house like 10 years ago, but I gave up, either I couldn't find it, or when I did, it was too expensive or too far away. And all a sudden this just turned up, the girl even drove the house to my doorstep, all I had to do was get out, pay and carry it inside =) (great since I was still coughing and really tired at the time, but now I feel better)

It has the original wallpapers, and I will not change it. It has some marks of time on it, but still, it looks really good. I think it is from 1963 or something like that.

I hope to furnish this house with furniture from the 60's and maybe some Brio original furniture too (they are wonderful!! But quite expensive..)
For now I actually let my daughter play careful with it. With a few old furniture and dolls I found in my drawers. I have to find a place for this house, we are getting out of space here, but my husband thought the house was nice too, so he "let" me buy it =) Even do we are crowded..

I think the ground have faded in colour, but I don't know how it would look originally.. But I was thinking more green?!

There is a bathroom under the stairs. Unfortunately it's glued to the walls, I haven't decided whether I should remove them or not, it's Lundby furniture. And they are a bit broken, but kinda suits the house, I'll see what I do.

I did remove a curtain in this window, it fell down on one side all the time, and the pin used to attach it to the wall was very rusty. A few bad marks on this wall, but still OK looking..

The name EVA is written on the side, I thought of removing it, but it's nice to see that it has been used and probably loved once before =)

My childhood houses

I did love dollhouses as a child too, and I guess I just never stopped loving them. But like most kids I stopped playing with them and put them away when I was "too big" for them..
Sometimes I regret I didn't take up my hobby of making miniatures sooner, but I was "too cool" for dollhouses and miniatures until I was around 18 years old and thought I could love what ever I wanted. So I bought a lot of new dollhouses =) Mostly Lundby scale, I had no clue there were different scales and that most houses in the world were bigger than our Swedish Lundby. And I started making more miniatures for myself and got a 1:12 scaled house. I did start to make miniatures for others and sold a little online before I realized I could make things for myself too, even do I wasn't over 60 years old ;) ( I thought you had to be around that age to collect dollhouses.... ;) ) I'm glad I've found so many, both collectors and miniature makers through this blog and Facebook.

Lets have a look at my first Lundby dollhouse (1:18 scale) =) I got this house for my 3 year old birthday (I think). I loved it and was very careful with it. And mum said I forbid my 2 years younger brother from moving things around in the house. My need for control started early....

This is me, seeing my new house for the first time. My mum redecorated it for me and put up a new wall and wallpaper and floors. I loved it.

And my daughter playing with the same house at my mum's place. We have the dollhouse at my mum's house so far, that way she can play a little with it now and then. I was a bit afraid she would ruin it.. but she is quite careful =) I have only given her some of the furniture I had in it, she will get more of them later. She's just 2,5 years old, she got a head start from me, that had to wait another 6 months to get it.. ;)

My daughter has these bend-me-dolls, I had a mother and a son and my brother had a father and daughter. Our dolls are in a box somewhere, these are "new" ones.
When she saw me packing a purple coat for Jennifer she was very sad she could not have it, so I gave her this blue one that I also made, and she is very happy with it. The doll in the middle is a baby (well it's suppose to be a mother in an older version of these dolls, but we call it baby) That way my daughter have our whole family in miniature =)

And I showed her wooden furniture before, and I hope to give her more of my old Lundby furniture when she gets a little older.

I also wanted to show another of my childhood houses that I loved. This is a smaller scaled house. I have never heard of Pin y Pon and don't know who the manufactor are, but I still love this house and haven't showed it to my daughter yet... I just googled it and saw lots of pictures and finally got tho see how the house looked originally, with one more wall than I have. I can't remember I ever had that wall, I think it was uncompleat when I got it.

I always thought this house was really cool! =) Some parts are missing, they were even missing back in the old days when I played with it. Neither mum or me remembers when I got it, but it was when I was a kid.

There is missing one wall, and the doors upstairs have fallen off. You can shut the house by spinning the walls.

I don't know which one is which, if this is Pin or Pon =) I have two dolls, a girl and a boy, I think they look very cute =) Unfortunately her hair is broken, but I glued it in place again =)

You can spin the rooms, here is the bathroom, just spin and you get a new room =)

There are this very cool details like this ironboard, that could be down, to iron on, or up, as a mirror.

The doors unfortunately broke and fell off when I was a kid, but I still have them.

It's a mess

My dollhouse is very messy at the moment =) The poor family live in the worse renovations mess ever ;)

My pregnant lady were just lying exhausted on the bed (without pillows and quilts) There are so many things to be done to this house and her husband is lying in a box for things that needs to be fixed.. He has no clothes.. And I haven't decided on have many kids there will be in this house, I love dolls and babies =) So she risks having a lot.... ;) One girl is missing hair and clothes and another girl needs clothes and a boy is bought with clothes on, but I don't know if I want to give him new ones... and the baby misses a body =)
And the house... well it's easier to say what I have done, than the things need to be fixed =)

But the lady is very happy I got her a new wardrobe, she started cleaning up the bedroom and hanging in her dress and putting in her shoes right away, even before I got to make the sliding doors..

I found my lady looking around at night, I believe she was looking for the wardrobe, but I had to take it out to build that sliding doors I'd planed =)

This solution is not the best, it looks good, but its very fragile! I have one mirror and one plastic-door. Its a bit hard sliding them... but it will have to do. But I would like to have a blurrier plastic door. Will look for that later, or find a way to make the one I have more blurry =)

Right now I'm working on some cradles, it's a lot of fun. And I thought I could add some to my "to sell box".  =)
I haven't finished the first one yet, but I have cut out the legs now, just need to paint them.

But I haven't forgot about what needs to be done at the house, and the family ;) The dishwasher is on the making...and the last floors in the house still need some fixing up...

I'm thinking of giving names to the dolls =) I just can't decide what... I do know which number the house is, it's 13 =) because the year is 2013 and several people say that 13 is an unlucky number, so I've always loved that number ;)
But I don't know what to make about the facade...
I might redo the outside of the house in several years, I just want to decorate and make furniture now, not make a facade =)

One last picture before I go to sleep... People talk about messy workspaces... they haven't seen mine.. I can't work here any more, but I like to sit in the living-room in the sofa, with a tray, I have a lot of full trays by now too... ;) The strange thing is that I always find what I look for, it's more a working-storage-place and everything is exactly were I put it ;) If I clean, I cant find a thing =) But, I will have to clean soon, it's getting a bit crowded.. I'm glad it's not Christmas yet, because the Santa-house is buried underneath a lot of stuff...
